A NEW CHOICE FOR OTHOPEDIC TREATMENTS

The “Liberty bielle” was designed as an alternative to the existing appliances for
mandibular propulsion.

The targets which guided the research were:

• Miniaturize the appliance to increase the comfort
• Improve amplitude of lateral movements
• Location choice of the pivot devices
• Easy maintenance
• Maximal compatibility with all techniques

To reach these goals it was decided to have a vertical and spheric hinge. Size decrease
and robustness of the appliance have been possible thanks to the use of automated
tooling machine.
